De Gournay for The Costume Institute Gala
Held annually in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Costume Institute Gala (also known as The Met Gala or the Met Ball) is one of New York’s most exclusive social events as well as one of the biggest fundraising nights in the city. Each year, the Gala serves as an opening celebration for the Institute’s annual fashion exhibit, with guests required to come in formal attire that reflects the nature of the exhibit. This past 2015, the Gala was entitled “China: Through the Looking Glass.”
De Gournay was commissioned to furnish the space with their signature chinoiserie-inspired wallpapers and textiles. With a 40-foot feature wall, robin’s egg blue tablecloths and custom hand-painted curtains, De Gournay’s techniques lent a bespoke and sophisticated air to the event. Take a look at the gorgeous interiors!
